SRIA launched
The much-awaited SRIA is now available. We launched in our third European level stakeholder event in Brussels on 15 October 2025. Compiling this document would not have been possible without the support of our dedicated stakeholders, who helped the co-creation process to be one of a kind in breadth and depth of engagement.
As 0ne of the main outputs of EUFORE is the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the forest-based sector, developed through an inclusive, multistakeholder co-creation process. This SRIA provides a strategic compass for national and European research agendas. In particular, it will inform and be further developed by the forthcoming European Research and Innovation Partnership on Forests and Forestry for a Sustainable Future.
The SRIA outlines priority areas where scientific excellence and innovation can support evidence-based policymaking, enhance cross-sectoral collaboration, and enable Europe’s forest-based sector to deliver longterm ecological, economic, and social value.
The first part of the SRIA presents a new vision for European forest research and innovation, along with EUFORE’s co-creative approach to developing the SRIA. The second part outlines the four interconnected, cross-cutting research themes. The annex describes the methodology used by the EUFORE project for developing the SRIA.
