EUFORE Hosts Strategic Workshop on Forest Partnership

On 13 September the EUFORE project hosted a highly engaging online workshop, bringing together EUFORE WP and Task Leads with the Forest Partnership Core Planning Team. This collaborative session provided a vital platform for aligning research with strategic planning for the upcoming European Partnership on Forests and Forestry.

The Core Planning Team, comprising five agencies from four member states, is spearheading the detailed planning efforts ahead of the European Commission’s anticipated collection of national commitments later this month. This workshop allowed participants to align their efforts and explore how EUFORE’s research can directly inform the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the overall Partnership design.

With 24 participants from across Europe, the workshop fostered valuable exchanges to:

• Share key insights from EUFORE research with the Core Planning Team.
• Gain deeper insights into the Partnership design process and the European Commission’s expectations.
• Brainstorm ideas on how research results from EUFORE can further support the Partnership’s development.

This workshop was an important step toward integrating EUFORE’s research with broader EU forest policy objectives, setting the stage for impactful future collaboration.
